TrueSift Ad Detect

TrueSift Ad Detect is a WordPress plugin for privacy-conscious AdBlock detection and lightweight Content Protection. Detection is disabled by default and is enabled explicitly by the administrator.

Core capabilities

  • friendly, non-blocking reminder after confirmed AdBlock detection;
  • redirect to your own information or support page;
  • custom front-end integration through the truesift:ad-detect-result browser event;
  • independent Content Protection for right-click and copying;
  • optional source attribution with the current page canonical URL;
  • light, dark and custom reminder appearance;
  • live preview, adjustable width and six placement options;
  • no detection history in the WordPress database.

Fail-open behavior

Only a confirmed blocked result triggers the configured response. Results such as clear, limited, unknown, invalid responses, scanner failures and network failures allow the visitor to continue normally.

Content Protection

Content Protection runs locally in the browser. Right-click and copying can be controlled independently. When copying remains enabled, the current canonical page URL can be appended to copied text as a short source line.

Installation and configuration

Installation follows the normal WordPress plugin flow. Detection behavior, the optional reminder, Content Protection and Appearance are then configured separately.

Privacy and external service

The Scanner V2 runtime is loaded locally from the plugin. When AdBlock detection is enabled, the browser requests neutral and ad-specific probe resources from the public TrueSift scanner service at https://ad-detect.truesift.de.

The plugin does not create a detection history in WordPress. See Privacy and data for details.
