WordPress Content Protection

Protect content. Detect AdBlock. Inform visitors politely.

WebDigiTech Content Shield combines two independently configurable protection areas in one WordPress plugin: local Content Protection and optional AdBlock detection. Visitors are not locked out of your website by blocking dialogs.

Two protection areas

Two jobs. One clearly structured WordPress solution.

Content Protection and AdBlock Protection are managed separately. You activate only the functions that suit your website and the visitor experience you want.

01 / CONTENT

Restrict common copying actions

Content Protection can restrict right-click, Copy and Cut, drag actions and selected browser shortcuts. Normal input fields and editors remain usable.

02 / ADBLOCK

Detect active ad blockers

Optional AdBlock Protection detects active ad blockers and can inform visitors about them. The module is disabled by default and is explicitly enabled by the administrator.

03 / VISITOR UX

Friendly notices instead of blocking pop-ups

AdBlock notices appear as a subtle bar at the bottom of the screen. The Content Protection notice also stays compact and does not interrupt normal browsing.

04 / REMINDER

Respect the visitor's decision

Visitors can disable their ad blocker and check again, open a help page or close the notice. A new reminder appears only after the period configured by the administrator.

05 / APPEARANCE

Match the website design

Colors, background, text, accent, border, corner radius and typography can be adapted to the existing website design. Both notices can be styled separately.

06 / PRIVACY

Privacy tools integrated

Content Shield extends the WordPress privacy tools with privacy-policy guidance, data export, data deletion and automatic cleanup of expired AdBlock records.

Visitor-friendly AdBlock protection

Inform instead of locking visitors out.

An active ad blocker does not have to prevent a visitor from using the website. Content Shield keeps the page accessible and shows a friendly notice instead. Visitors decide for themselves whether to disable the ad blocker, get help or be reminded again later.

AdBlock Protection

A notice that does not interrupt the visit.

The AdBlock notice sits at the bottom of the website and blocks neither navigation nor content. Communication stays friendly while the site operator can still point out the impact of an ad blocker.

01 / RECHECK

Disable AdBlock and check again

Once the visitor disables the ad blocker, detection can be run again immediately. If the check succeeds, the notice disappears.

02 / HELP

Help for less experienced visitors

Visitors who do not know how to disable an ad blocker for a single website can open a short help page from the notice.

03 / LATER

Remind again later

Closing the notice is respected. Content Shield stores the decision and shows the reminder again only after the configured period has elapsed.

AdBlock help

Disable AdBlock only for this website.

You do not need to disable your ad blocker completely. With most solutions, it is enough to add the current website to the exception list or pause filtering only for this domain.

Another ad blocker?

Look for a website exception.

Open your ad blocker icon and look for options such as “Pause on this site”, “Allowlist”, “Trusted site”, “No filtering” or “Allow website”. Then reload the page and run the check again.

Appearance

The protection adapts to your website — not the other way around.

By default, Content Shield can inherit the website typography. Alternatively, both visitor notices can be adapted to the existing look with custom colors and design parameters.

01 / TYPOGRAPHY

Use the existing website font

Content Shield can blend into the existing typography. If needed, a custom CSS font stack is also available without requiring the plugin to load external fonts.

02 / COLORS

Light, Dark or custom

Use a light or dark base appearance, or define the background, primary text, secondary text, accent, border and accent text yourself.

03 / INDEPENDENT

Style both notices separately

AdBlock Reminder and Content Protection Notification can be styled independently so each function fits its specific use case.

Content Protection

A protection layer instead of a false DRM promise.

Content Protection makes common copying and interaction actions in the browser more difficult and can politely inform visitors about the protection. Content already delivered to a browser, however, cannot technically be protected completely from saving, inspection or screenshots.

Installation

Activate Content Shield in four steps.

Content Shield is installed as a standard WordPress plugin. You then decide separately which protection modules are enabled and how the visitor notices should look.

  1. 01

    Download plugin ZIP

Download the current version from the official Content Shield download.

  2. 02

    Install in WordPress

Open “Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin”, select the ZIP file and activate WebDigiTech Content Shield.

  3. 03

    Select protection areas

Enable Content Protection, AdBlock Protection or both modules according to your website requirements.

  4. 04

    Customize text and design

Configure visitor text, reminder interval, colors, typography and presentation to match your website.

Privacy & control

External communication only where it is needed.

Content Protection works locally in the browser and does not require an external service. Optional AdBlock Protection is enabled separately and uses the TrueSift infrastructure operated by WebDigiTech for the required detection. The plugin does not load external analytics or font services for this purpose.
